Each week the SSC meets with an executive in a company and hears their story with entrepreneurship. This week, co-founder and CEO of VentureApp, Chase Garbarino, share his founding stories with the SSC.
Chase Garbarino shared his entrepreneurial journey and the founding of VentureApp. He spoke of how VentureApp came to be and identifying the value in that idea.
Garbarino shared the importance of setting goals to ensure that he continues progressing in two things--his health and his work (in that order specifically). Garbarino broke down his personal strategy like this:
Each week Garbarino writes down 2-3 goals under the 2 different categories mentioned above. The goals are measurable and achievable.
First, Garbarino identifies what he wants to achieve that week. Writing them down in his chart, he leaves a space so that at the end of the week, he can rate each goal on a scale of 1-3 (less to best) on how well he accomplished it.
After rating each item, he adds up the total score for how well he accomplished his goals. This allows Garbarino to see his progress on a micro and macro level.
These goals can be short term goals that change from week to week, but other goals are steps to achieving greater goals such as running a half-marathon.
Over all, Garbarino said this exercise keeps him on track for his goals and recognize where he can improve.
